Re: [VAC] More than one Airstream

Terry,

Thanks so much for that beam of light in our direction. As far as I'm
concerned, your line of thinking is irrefutable. But I would have to defer
professional opinion to Tuna (as he has stated he has a master's degree in
that sort of clinical analysis). The problem I'm finding is how to stop!
My relatives tell me I have a DNA flaw, called the "project gene." I've
kept it occupied by building a couple of '50s 4x4 Chevy trucks, a little
Italian convertible, a house and outbuildings, fish ponds and waterfalls,
and now Airstreams. Our little Bubble is perfect for that quick getaway,
but what about extended excursions? What then? There have been recent
postings that indicate a longer Airstream is an apparent necessity. There
have also been recent postings that concur with the desirability of owning
more than one Airstream. Especially after finishing your first one, you
really feel you start to have a handle on the nuances of that particular
type of restoration. After all of the above projects, I've found that
restoring an Airstream is extremely satisfying, and dare I say a little more
affordable than most of the above. I feel compelled to save as many as
possible of these beautifully designed coaches from further neglect. But
now I'm starting to think I'm going to need a ranch, or at least an acreage,
to maintain a future inventory. Details, details. For now I just have to
convince the owners of that '57 Flying Cloud that they really do need to
divest themselves of it, and that it really would be much better suited to
flying along behind my '57 Chevy Suburban....
