Re: [VAC] Materials estimate to rebuild shell

I rebuilt interior of '56 Bubble (16ft) and estimate the enterior cost was
around $4500.00. Includes is with new stove/oven, hot water tank, small
refrigerator, heat pump, upholstery and building materials including
painting and painting labor(sprayer), sink, facuet, water pump, water tank,
battery, porta potty, light fixtures, totally new 110v and 12v wiring
system and converter/charger. Exterior work including new axle, brakes,
frame work, polishing and misc stuff for another $2000.00. A lot depends
on how far you want to go. I figured it it was worth it just to do it up as
modern and comfortable as necessary. Why quibble over a few thousand
bucks? I could not go out and buy a new rig of this calibur for the same
amount and money that will last as long as this one. Incidentally I have
not estimated in any of my own labor time which was extensive. At minimum
wage I would say I now have a $15,000 unit.
