Re: [VAC] Leveling blocks

Vintage two axle airstreams have independent axles not connected by
equalizer links as in SOB. So when you lift one axle on blocks for
leveling you put all the load of that side on that single tire and axle.
Handy for fixing flats and adjusting brakes, but probably not the
greatest for the axle rubber suspension blocks to be parked that way for
days, nor for the best stability of the floor while sleeping in a
breeze. Its best for parking to use leveling blocks under both tires in
essentially equal amounts to share the load. I figure that if one axle
was enough to handle the load full time, then the trailer would have had
only one.

I think more recent airstreams as well as SOB tandem and triple axle
trailers depend on springs and equalizer links so that the tires share
the load even if one is on top a block. My Monitor works that way.
