One alternative is to find a similar trailer with similar couch set up and
measure up the end rests you speak of and have your upholsterer cut them
out of foam which is essentially what they were anyway.  May need to put a
thin layer of ply on bottom some rigidity.  I also would suggest geting
fire proof foam for this job as it is more rigid or firm then nonfire proof
foam.  Again work it out with your upholsterer.
