Re: [VAC] yucky water

Hi RJ and Krista,

Only way to know for sure is take it to the health department for testing. In New York, every owner
of a house for sale, must have the water pass a purity test before the house can be sold. Just take
some of the brown stuff with the water from a faucet into the lab and pay the fee (peanuts). Then,
you'll know for sure. If you threw out all the yucky water, you might luck out if the previous owner
always stayed in one place and drew water from the same source. Otherwise, it's a pig in a poke.

I'd be interested in how you cleaned out your hot water heater and water pump. Is it safe to assume
you replaced the little 4" in line filter located before your water pump? Ever since I learned how
to spell assume, I don't.

When you finish figuring out what your brand new water filter arrangement is going to be, we'd be
interested in reading about it. You will be bringing a fresh perspective and will have reviewed the
most recent research on the entire topic. There is nothing like an enthusiastic researcher for
getting to the bottom of things.

I'm glad you're part of this discussion group,

Terry
