 There's no such gunk in my home systems (I have 2 of them).

Much crap in RV systems comes from non-use, or more specifically,
intermittant usage. If you're circulating water through the system on a
daily basis, I'd bet that you'll have little, if any, gunk or 'nasties'
growing in your water system. Using it every other weekend will lead to
stuff growing in your tank and lines.

Doing the usual Spring treatment with bleach, etc. will help, but it
should probably be repeated over the season if you're a weekend camper.
It's probably not necessary if you use the system all the time. For this
reason, many people never connect to city water, even if it's available.
Instead, they fill the tank and use all water from there, keeping it
always fresh.

And people wonder why I won't drink from my onboard system. :-)
