RE: Re: [VAC] Expanding foam sealant

Ralph,
In a past life I over saw a shipping department that used expanding foam for custom packaging. We inserted a fairly heavy gauge plastic on top
of our units and then squirted the chemical on top. As it expanded we placed another peice of plastic on top and shut the box. Custom sealed and fitted.
The idea is this , use a heavy garbage bag inserted in the cavity to be sealed and fill with foam. The plastic then becomes a vapor barrier and seals the foam. if that would not work then staple plasic sheeting or liquid nail it to the frame and apply. Or make your own bag by just stuffing a sheeting pocket in the cavity and then applying foam.
Our foam got really hot and required a rather heavy gauge plastic.
Just an idea.
