Have a deadbolt lock installed with a turn-knob inside and keyed from the outside.  Good
luck in finding one with a long throwbolt to match the doorknob; but it's worth drilling a
new opening and using standard 2 3/8 or 2 3/4 inch throw if necessary.

And give yourself some means of defense in your trailer. I'm not getting into the gun issue,
but some people feel comfort in keeping a baseball bat under their bunk.  It will sail
through customs and is legal in all states, and when coupled with the element of surprise is
VERY effective at close (inside the trailer) range.  CAUTION: If you ever have to pick it up
in self-defense, don't drop it!
