Hi Bob.
Been there.  Done that.  I called a plumber and he took a fitting designed
for a compression fitting.  It was large enough to fit over my "frozen"
over-sized pipe.  He soldered it on and it is working today.  I carry a
pressure reduction and keep my water pressure to about 25 to 30 lbs to help
it along.  

You might try the compression fitting and then solder it on.  Let me know.

Another option I have seen work is black tubing with clamps.  I have several
of those that seem to work.  Good luck.
