thanks to all who have replied to the light switch mystery. i should have 
been clearer with my question though. there are actually two switches to the 
right as you enter the door. one is low and looks like a typical light 
switch(the one in question) and the other is at head height and is a toggle 
type that turns on the small outside light. so the mystery continues. erin 
adams and his 54'
