Re: [VAC] Tandom vs. single axle

Ken
Iagree with your statements. I have said before that I would not tow a
trailer weighting over 2000lb with a single axel. I have never found the need
to
use alaveling hitch or antisway bera on a tandom axel trailer and have towed
boats that weighted as much as 6500lb with serge breaks . When I left
Fredicksburg after the rally my brand newely installed spare tire went flat
somewhere on the road and I was not aware of it until I stopped driving some
375miles down the doad there in lies another safty factor in tandom axels The
tire was not damaged and it must have went flat early because the little tits
that a new tire has wera not eaven worn off(afalty new valve stem was at
falt). Had I had a single axel thailer I would been in deap DuDu. Also I find
that when checking my breaks the tandom will bring the rig to a stop in an
emergency.
