There is a device called a Charge Controller or similar which does
this. There are manual ones and automatic control ones that shut down
input when batteries are charged. Get the automatic. They are a few
bucks more but I found I never would remember to check status of
batteries and shut input down. Got tired of worrying so spent money for
the automatic. A solar system dealer or supplier can help you on this.
