I think I have seen clear plastic sewer connectors at the RV stores .  
Perhaps you could make your hook up to the blue plastic container with these 
and visually check it? I  bought the smallest blue tank that you carry like a 
suitcase and find that it is very easy to empty frequently, I had had a 
bigger one in the past that was hard to empty in less than perfect situations.
