A trick I learned hauling water for my horses.  Put a large plastic garbage 
bag down in the container.  Fill the garbage bag with water and close it 
tightly with twist ties.... then let it slosh all it wants and it won't spill 
out.  When you get where you are going just slit the bag and the water will 
fill the container. 

Works for a bucket, a much bucket, even a garbage can.
