A possible suggestion from Joe Campbell and his 1956 overland. For working on 
top I have (2) 2/10 boards with all the edges rounded and wrapped with 
carpet. this way you can distribute your weight. And the round edges will 
avoid any chance of creasing the alum. but do be careful they will 
slide.(thinking of putting a retainerstrap from one to the other at each end) 
   any other ideas people?
