We were soooo happy to remove the rooftop AC unit someone had added to
our 17' .  The small trailers look so out of place with the units on
top. Check out  http://members.home.net/dial/caravel.jpg  to get an
idea.  The ac installation was professional, but the weight of the
Dometic unit was buckling the inner and outer skins. Luckily we were
able to pop out the dents. The wiring that the previous owner added to
support the unit was also not too pretty of a sight. We are much happier
with our roof vent now.  Best bet is to get a portable window or floor
mount unit for those summertime full hook-up stays.
