Re: [VAC] Backing the trailer

Jack knifing is guaranteed when the trailer turns sharper than the tow
vehicle can follow when backing. Its an out of control situation. The
only cure is pulling forward to straighten the tow. Doesn't have to be
straight, but just less bent than the tow vehicle can turn.

Interference between the tow vehicle and the trailer can occur when
making sharp turns through depressions (like street entrances) if the
hitch isn't long enough on either the tow vehicle or the trailer. Cars
with lots of tail fins and square backed vans and pickups are most
vulnerable.
