If your lock looks like this, the locking lever should be on the far right.
Sounds like you have a different model, though.

If your lock is a Bargman, whether this model or a different one, rebuild
kits are available from RV supply stores, and would probably include the
part that you're missing.  Complete replacement locks are about $80, parts
kits are about half that.

Or, you might just add a deadbolt lock instead, like the Weiser stainless
steel one available from Camper's Choice for about $18.  Or check your local
lock shop.  If you have a suicide door, this also provides security against
it opening while under tow.
