Re: [VAC] Early style awnings, info needed

Bill, thanks for the info. The previous owners were
WBCCI members #5384. Their name plate is still on the trailer. It says,"the
Bastions,Rowland and Mae,Spring Valley". There is only one storage tube
under the trailer. In the back storage there are half a dozon home made from
rebar tent stakes, and screw jacks. So ,I think the tube may be for awning
poles. The mounts are curb side and don't apear to be sturdy enough to be
ground braces. The two peices that fit the mounts look like 3/4I.D. metal
tubes fit over them. I've seen some pics of older trailers with simple
awnings like you described. I have a pretty strong suspicion all the said
items are for the now missing awning. I have also seen pics of awnings that
look like they roll up into a case/bag that stays attatched to the awning
rail. Too bad this trailer can't talk,it obviously has seen some seriouse
miles. later, Trike
