I've seen some pretty nice painted Airstreams in the past. The owners have
mentioned that after several years the silver paint deteriorates and starts to
look gray and dull. My thoughts would be to consider using a quality good
looking silver paint......then clear coating it. This should keep it looking
good for a long time.
