That is exactly correct. Putty tape comes in a roll that is a flat tape, or 
a roll that is a flat tape scored into peel off ropes. The ropes are 
especially useful and handy for seal a multitude of things without having 
too much putty tape, and all the work of trimming excess squish and so on.

It sticks like crazy, seals excellent, never dries or gets hard, not messy, 
and is very easily removed unlike silicone and poly sealers.
