Re: [SilverStreak] i'm a new Owner of a 1966 Silver Streak Sabre

Hubby did the same on one of ours. He took out the wall in the trunk. The
trunk had been wet and rotted also part of the floor under the toilet. He
put in new flooring there and we put new tile on all of it including in the
trunk then reinstalled the wall. It really looks nice and is nice and solid
now. He also put in a new, better quality toilet, the other one had leaked
and we think that's what made it rot. At first we thought it was water
coming in around the truck but apparently not.

He did the same in a 5th wheel we had. Water had made the floor rot so he
put in new flooring beside the tub. The tub had cracked, so he used a
sealer and mixed it with color. Then he redid the whole bottom of the tub
building it up slightly and put in a solid form underneath, not like the
piece of blocking that was under it before, then ground it off inside to
make it smooth and the tub bottom a bit thicker. It's doing great. We had
considered replacing the whole tub insert but the way its made he said he
would have to tear out walls and everything. He did a really good job on
it, better than new.
