Subject: Re: [SilverStreak] Door Seal

Eddie, or anyone else who may have changed the door seal on a Silver
Streak.

I am going to replace the door seal on my door before I reinstall it
with the new Stainless Steel Hinges. The door seal currently on the
door seems to be similar to the "Door Gasket-Overlay Doors" product
from "Vintage Trailer Supply". It looks as though someone cut a 5/8"
wide strip of "Inner Tube" glued it to the door, then glued the door
gasket (Product Code VTS-286BA) to the strip of inner tube. This
gives a total height of the door gasket of 5/8 inches. I assume the
stock door gasket height of 9/16 inches was slightly low. Anyone have
a suggestion or a better door seal?

I should get my door back on Wednesday 5/21/08 and will install it on
my trailer by Thursday 5/22/08. I'll be sure to let everyone know how
the new Stainless Hinges turn out, and my cost for the hinges,
including the hinge material, SS plate, steel shank pop rivets and
sealer. I'll also get a lead time for more sets of hinges.
