Curtis,

Typo error, computer keyboard failed....

Cutting and bending it should not be overly hard using your vise and heat to 
break bend and avoid fracture. The problem was the welding which this rod 
will now provide a way to avoid  expensive weld shop and a lot of polishing 
and buffing
