Mitch and Terry, A few hints...sometimes not thought of and maybe helpful. Never travel with more than a gallon or 2 water to slosh around in your waste holding tank(s) as the weight of liquid beats up the tank, trailer, and messes up tongue weight. Fill that fresh water tank when you get to campground. Why carry 8+ pounds per gallon? Constantly feel for heat on tires and hub centers (grease caps) of each wheel. Get used to what feels "normal" and get immediately concerned if one is hotter than the other. When you can, repack all wheel bearings with black Moly grease. Too much air beats up the trailer. Too little makes the tires hot. If you take a moment while fueling, you will get used to what is normal and can avoid surprises. Don't ignore that grease cap, wheel, or tire, that is hotter than the next. It is your only warning. Tongue weight is what you want, so keep stowage up front, coolers, canned goods which are heavy put in sacks and not cabinets that get pounded by the cans. Put a terry towel under stove burner grates to keep all that from getting beat up. Oven racks lay on terry towel in bottom of stove to keep porcelain and door from getting beat up. Stow loose things in sink on top of a terry towel to keep loose stuff from flying. Move all loose stuff to front so that when you hit brakes stuff cannot fly forward and damage interior. Put that table down and away, no point in that getting beat up. Make sure the door is dead bolted. Watch those hinges and skin where they fasten. If looking bleak, duct tape the door. You can loose the door and never seen that happening. There is no warning. Ask Ralph! (We are making new hinges) There are great anti-sway bars to go with your load levelers if you experience sway. Bars are not horribly expensive so don't get alarmed if you find the need as you pass trucks. You just acquired one of the best of the best trailers! Have fun and Congratulations! -Eddie- Houston, TX
