The Iota units are solid state and much cleaner power than the old buzz boxes....also a lot less weight than the 38# monster. Maybe 2#. If you can, get a new fuse block and replace the old glass fuses with the newer blade type. You may have to look at a marine supply to get one that will take the larger fuses. None of the auto places around me carried them. I wound up ordering mine from a amateur radio supply. Be sure and tag all of the wires before you pull them so you know what goes where. Eddie, flattery will get you everywhere. Ken Wilson KE5DFR Cypress, Texas -----Original Message----- LaDona, Good deal on the fridge. There is a freebie for ya! They will replace the whole thing with a new one I am pretty sure. Pursue it! Many folks successfully use the Dometic. It's a good unit. Dometic knows their liability and this problem. Check their other recalls, not just yours and see the repetitive same recalls. Don't be alarmed, just go thru the process and you will get a new fridge. A plus to it is they put a less sensitive controller that is more forgiving of the "wild" high finish rate of coach converter chargers. I see Ken replied on the Buzz box. I never bought a new one but I lurk on the VAL and they really know their stuff. Join that. Ask them. They know. In the meantime I would follow any suggestions by Ken Wilson. He really knows his stuff. He doesn't say much but when he does, I listen. -Eddie- Houston, TX
