[SilverStreak] now worried about my new fridge!

After reading the recent "12v refrigerator" posts I am very worried  about my 
own fridge! My recently purchased 1970 SS Rocket came with a  newer Dometic 
two way fridge. I just checked and they have the 12v wire  going from the 
fridge to the electrical bar that is hooked to the blue DCV  power box. From the 
posts I read am I correct to assume I need to  change this or I risk frying my 
refrigerator electrical controls?
