Joe, No. You will see and read various "official specs" quoted as to what voltage is required to charge a battery. Generally the voltage is 13.96 or better, charges, and then "floats" back. In doubt?, just feel for heat after 1 hour charging, the sides of the battery. Don't forget, nothing beats a digital meter for real info. Gauges in vehicles and equipment are considered "cheap jewelry", seldom accurate. Compare your GPS to your speedometer and odometer. Vehicle speedo will never be accurate thru it's entire range. Note every vehicle requires you to "learn" or get used to the fuel gauge. Each vehicle being different characteristics. Your truck may be charging just perfectly and the instruments reading not accurate. Your truck battery may be going to that great charger in the sky, and if so it will keep charge rate higher than normally needed. Lot's of variables. -Eddie- Houston, TX
