Re: [SilverStreak] Water heater options

Atwoods have an aluminum alloy tank "lined" with a zinc aluminum
alloy that acts as the sacrificial anode to prevent corrosion of the
tank. Suburbans are porcelain lined steel much like a home water
heater tank. They have a separate screw-in anode rod.

A demand pump system does not pressurize the fresh water tank. It
pressurizes only the plumbing "downstream" of the pump. Usually there
is an accumulator (a miniature pressurized reservoir) to reduce pump
cycling. It will draw a vacuum in the tank, so the tank has to be
vented (or else the tank would collapse). The vent should have a
filter to keep dirt and bugs out.
