I believe that a title search will be done when you re-title in  Texas and 
they will have saved records of your original title info.  These  numbers will 
always cross reference in the State registration database so you  will not lose 
anything. This happened to me from the state of Arizona to  Colorado but my 
title still has the SST.... vin number on it.
