Hi Amy - about two months ago.
I used contact cement. Sprayed painted a white rustoleum base and hand 
painted with red krylon on letters (needed multiple coats). Clearcoated with 
Krylon spray and filled in any stress cracks after mounting with crazy glue. 
Used very small thin neoprene washers between plastic nameplate and trailer 
body to reduce flex,heat transfer and vibration, and stainless screws. 
Probably overkill, but time will tell.
