I have not had a stainless tank ever leak.  I did have a glass lined tank 
that leaked on a Streamline once.  It was in an area where the water fill 
connects from the top to the exterior of the trailer and the bouncing from travel 
caused stress on the weld.  I have a stainless on my SS and will probably never 
need to change it.  It is converted to demand.
