RE: [VAL] Armstrong Aircondition

Tom,
First thing I would check is the thermostat. Short the two wires together
which should cause the unit to start. If that doesn't work, you can take
the shroud off and open the box at the front of the roof unit. There are
two capacitors in the box, one is a start and the other is a run capacitors.
First check for power inside to ensure you don't have a power issue. If you
have power but the capacitors check bad, they are fairly inexpensive to
replace yourself. Check with an electrical motor supply house for the best
price. I paid less than $20 for both of mine. Some home stores may carry
them, but they will be more expensive.

Anyone have any suggestions for the following: My 25 ft Tradewind has the
original Armstrong air conditioner.? As I went to start it up today for a
trip next week, it went on for about 5 seconds and then stopped.? I climbed
up on top and the fan rotates and is clear of obstructions.? I have checked
the fuses (not sure if I have found them all)? but there are no bad ones.?
Power is coming into the trailer.? Before I take it to the service center
(very expensive).....is there anything else I can check??? Thanks for any
help.
