I have never heard such a thing. I have a 1969 trailer and am pretty sure
that the tanks are origianl. I did have to put on the new OPD valves a
couple of years ago. They are steel tanks by the way, not aluminum. Was the
person who told you this in the business of selling new propane tanks?
