Bill,

I would take the rear bumper off and sight down the frame line to look for
sag.  Furthermore at this point you may discern whether or not you can slip
a channel iron section inside the channel iron frame and simply bolt it in
place.  The cross members may block inside the channel frame work.
The frame is made from tempered steel and will be difficult to drill.
