Re: [VAL] Vent

Jerry,

Airstream started in 1962 putting in reinforcing structure, wiring and a
drain tube. These did not always come up to a vent.

In the case of your 65 20' Globetrotter the structure etc. is located
76" back from the #1 rib.

The #1 rib is the point were the front segments meet the side sheets.
Inside it is marked by the point were the front inner liner meets the
ceiling flat sheets. By measuring back 76" from the top center of the
ceiling you will locate the AC mounting spot. There may or may not be a
vent there.

If there is a vent it is just a matter of removing the vent to install
an AC unit.

If there is no vent then a large dose of trust will be required before
punching a hole through the ceiling. My data is from customer service at
Airstream.

If no one else who has been there, done that doesn't chime in you might
want to contact Customer Service at the factory and confirm my number.
