[VAL] Aluminum(?) rods in Tradewind cupboard

This is going to be rather like the "Guess the Purpose of the Widget"
segment on "Ask This Old House".

Looking for a little insight into a "mysterious" design. The solution
must be somewhere in the original literature - it is not in the user
manual. Or.... maybe it's obvious and I just don't get it.

I have a 72 Tradewind and have been repairing my overhead tambour
doors and and giving all the cabinetry a thorough go over. The
cupboard that presents the mystery is the one over the fridge, sitting
to the rear of the counter. Inside (in front of the white sheild for
the refrigerator vent) are two aluminum(?) rods. They are offset from
each other and look to be some kind of rack. Nothing runs through them
- no wires or pipes. Any ideas as to their original purpose?

Photo 12 at this link is a visual of what I am talking about (not my
trailer - just a photo of the darn things in the Vintage Airstream
photo archives)

Thanks for any solutions.
