Forest you can search the archives and find window film removal. On the '74 
its pretty easy once you get the retaining ring out. There is a split in it 
at the bottom and you can work it out from there. A scribe and a brake tool 
(one used to remove cotter pins) will help in getting started removing the 
retainer. Once it starts just keep going but don't rush it and bend the 
retainer way out off shape. You can actually reinstall the inner pane 
providing you do not break the glass. If you get stumped call me (cingular)
