If you have adjusted the air slots the flame should be a nice blue. If not 
set it back where you started. It should also have a forceful sound to the 
flame. If not then you will need to clean out the tube. Just remove the 
screws at the bottom that hold it in place to the W/H flue or you can take a 
piece of cloths hanger (stiff wire) and hook it, then reach it around front 
of the tube orfice, you may have a dirt dobber nest there.
