Thanks Daisy,

That's kind of what I figured.  I'm getting ready to re-install the tank
box and put in the final end section of the floor and I didn't see a need
to drill another hole through the floor just to thread the sensor into the
tank.  I'll probably install and seal a pipe plug in the opening on the top
of the tank and let it go at that.
