Hi Barbara,

I wonder if your awning needs to have it's winder upper equalized.  If 
you look at the Zip Dee Site, they have instructions for just about 
every aspect of care and repair.

I see that when installing or replaceing, it is important that the two 
sides be  wound up equally. Maybe that didn't happento your's.

My awning on the 29' er goes up with great pizzazz, and usually all it 
takes is a few jiggles to get the wheels to go in.  I would add however, 
that I can't get the wheel up and closed with the long crank thingy, I 
have to climb on a chair to do that.

Actually, I camped and drove for a while with the wheels not in place, 
didn't know any better.  I think if the spring is tighened correctly 
there is only a slight chance of it coming open. I have to pull it 
pretty hard.
