RE: [VAL] Re: Insurance

Hello,
I have my 68 and my 59 insured through State Farm. Matter of fact I met
with my agent about two months ago to discuss this. A while back there
were some posts on this list from people who were having a problem
getting paid for the worth of their trailers after some kind of loss,
this concerned me. I made an appointment and armed with a detailed diary
of repairs that included photos and receipts, I sat down with him to
discuss Replacement Value insurance. I was not only told by my State
Farm agent but also the Underwriter (who joined us by telephone) that as
long as I can document the investment on a "Collector" vehicle that
State Farm would insure for replacement cost. Now you have to remember
that will not include my labor (700+ hours on the 59 alone) and also
there will be possible depreciation as time goes on. Also the cost of
this insurance is reasonable, I believe under $100/yr/trailer.

The key is (as my agent told me) to be able to prove worth, collect
receipts, take photos, track sales of similar trailers and keep a diary
of repairs and you should be good to go if you go to State Farm.
(BTW, I have nothing to do with State Farm other than they carry all my
insurance and I have been with them 30 years)

Good Luck
