I've used small auxiliary cooling units like that many times in the past 
to add extra cooling capacity for a short term to computer rooms.

They do a good job, but are noisy as all of the noise making stuff is 
inside. They also need either a floor drain for the condensate, or have 
a small water pump to pump it out the exhaust hose.

As far as a trailer, storing it might take valuable space, where a roof 
mounted unit is out of the way. Some of the roof mounted units also have 
electric heat for taking the chill off, don't know if you'd need a 
separate heater, or have to fire up the furnace.
