One good thing about a SUV is they have a much shorter distance between rear
axle and hitch that a standard pickup or Suburban type. One of the best
towing foundations for that reason is that of a reardrive van in standard length.
I've heard the extra lenght GM Safari/Astro van with the hard working 4.3
litre V6 makes an excellent medium duty tow vehicle.
