[VAL] magic stove question

Here is a question for the list. Have any of you had trouble with the 
burner valves becoming very stiff and hard to turn on a magic chef stove? 
The stove is 35 years old, was not used for 20 years until we bought the 
trailer this summer. We used it twice before and didn't notice this 
problem. This time we noticed that when you try to adjust the burner, 
as you turn it down, it becomes very stiff and hard to turn. Perhaps 
all those years of sitting caused it to lose lubrication? So, anyone 
noticed this before on their stove? Any cures?
