The material is called "tambour".

(1) The imitation walnut finish is still available from Jackson Center (or
at least it was about 6 months ago).

(2) Many more decorative, modern finishes are available from Tapeease
(http://www.tapeease.com/veneer), Winona Manufacturing,
(http://www.winonamanufacturing.com), and others.

(3) If you have more time than money, salvage can provide both the walnut
finish and the lighter finish that a/s used later. The downside is that
the material deteriorated with time, sunlight, and oxygen, so salvage
material may not be as strong as new.

(4) If you really have more time than money, several members have repaired
their damaged tambour -- see the archives for details.
