[VAL] '66 type 2 windows/Dow Silastic RTV-732

Thanks, this LIST is a great resource. Mc Master/ Carr has been added to my
favorites.
Mc Master doesn't have an outlet here, but their website has data on the
DOW sealants. I searched for DOW 732 and it took me to a page that had 'em
all. There's enough aircraft and marine suppliers around that I should be
able to score.
RE: Type 1,2 &3 windows... I was under the impression the Type 1's were
early production and morphed into Type 2's. My '66's are high number J's, so
I reasoned they had the Type 2 glass bar. Regardless, they lifted out just
like the book said they should.
The windows I found were '68's in a Type 3 glass bar and were no problem
to remove. I have two 39" Type 3 bars if anyone need them. I know it will
probably give the purists fits because of the stainless window trim on a
'66. I like the trim as it makes the window easier to see when it's open,
which was a factor in one of 'em dying.
On another problem.. The Hehr lifts on my roof vents have issues. One is
stuck closed and the another has the handle attachment missing. If I can get
them apart I believe they can be repaired. It would appear that all I need
to do is drill out the rivets holding the assembly together, but having
previous experience working on vintage motorcycles I realize the dragons can
lurk within.
 Thanks Again,
   DanG
