Sounds like a neat project.  Must have been tough to find that old of  an 
Airstream.  I've seen many from the fifties, sixties and seventies but  the older 
ones are a bit rare.  Nice tow vehicle too.  I'm working on  restoring a 1962 
Galaxy 500 but no Airstream to tow yet.
 
I'll keep you posted on the project and please do the same.  I may  want to 
talk to you about how architecture reflected the shape of the Airstreams  of 
the forties and fifties and vice versa.
