Re: [VAL] frame separation

Hi Folks:

Just a reminder that "frame separation" is not what a lot of those in the
group think it is.

a. There is frame failure near the axels. This causes the infamous "tail
droop". Fixed by installing a reinforcing plate on the frame. Normally in
longer trailers. See AS Service Bulletin #29.

2. (Click & Clack) Then there is "frame separation" which happens when the
frame is OK, but the fasteners that attach the body to the frame fail
(corrode) and allow the body to move separately from the frame, rather than
act in unison as a unit (monocoque) as intended. Can happen in shorter
trailers too. The fasters need to be replaced. See AS Service Bulletin #1.

For all of you that know all of this already......Never mind.....
