[VAL] I'm really happy

    All,

I just solved the last leak in my pressure water and sewer plumbing in
our '69 Caravel.

Next is to replace the smallish faucet in the galley with one of the
era that has a taller neck. The one there now looks like the small chrome
ones that come on cheap, all-in-one vanities at Home Depot. Does anyone
have an example of a larger one from their '69 so I'd know what to look for
in yet another vintage search?

Last week I tore up the back yard to "T" into the existing 74-year old
4" cast iron sewer line with 4" ABS to the Caravel. All that went well
including the super neat electronic transmitter we sent down the cast iron
that we followed above ground with a receiver to determine the pipe location
and even the depth to the very inch so as to dig in the right place. The
pipe made a 45 degree bend in the middle of the yard half way to the alley
and without that transmitter, we'd still be digging test holes.

I replaced the crummy, leaky copper supply line to the toilet with
stainless braided hose and replaced the original shut off with a slick ball
valve. The last leak was in the ABS trap under the head sink that refused
to be stanched. I took it completely off and simply wiped the faying
surfaces with a clean rag. That's all it took to make that sucker dry as a
bone now.

Lastly, I raised the trailer slightly so as to cause water in the
holding tank to flow to the aft streetside corner where the outlet is and
now the tank empties almost bone dry after numerous test uses of the toilet.

Thanks for letting me ramble on,

    Glyn
